Welcome to our summary of Monday night's seminar on the origin of disease within our individual bodies. We started off with a bang of science and statistics, warning the crowd that this would be a 'toothy' lecture but well worth hanging in there given all our concerns about robust health. Why are so many people experiencing the diseases formerly associated with the extremely elderly at such younger ages? Is there anything that can be done about this? (YES!)

Kitchen Tips - Tools for Delicious Health

What a fun night! This seminar was a step away from the medical lectures we often present with more of a focus on the 'how' of being healthy, instead of the 'why.' Dr. den Boer did spend a bit of time explaining a study done recently where rats were fed one of three diets: their standard pellets, a well known breakfast cereal, or the cereal box itself. Perhaps not surprising was the fact that the shortest lifespan and most illness happened to the rats that ate the cereal! Processing changes food into something our bodies can't recognize, and we must minimize it wherever possible.

Detoxification and Weight Loss - Summary from Seminar

As we discussed at last month's seminar, toxicity has all sorts of negative implications on our weight. Extra weight can come from a body's attempt to protect itself from toxic overload by insulating with additional layers of fat-the body can even veto the attempt to lose that fat if it's not equipped to handle the detoxification required during fat loss.
